Supervision for Trainee Counsellors

Mark Lowe (MBACP / BACP Registered) – Counselling Supervisor for Trainee Counsellors

I offer supervision to trainee counsellors in the Oldham, Saddleworth and Manchester areas. My experience to date has been in the voluntary and private sectors.  I am a member of the BACP and I am BACP Registered.

I’m a Person Centred Supervisor but recognise that trainees will naturally want to experience all aspects of counselling before they determine which theoretical approach best fits their own style. I closely follow the Hawkins and Shohet (2005) Process Model of Supervision for Counsellors and Helping Professionals. This is an integrative model which can be used to support supervisees regardless of their theoretical background.

We can talk about anything you wish to bring to your supervision session. This may be client work, exploring how you practice, or working through scenarios to help prepare you for client work in employment, voluntary and/or private practice.

I have a practical approach to supervision and my aim is to support you to become the best counsellor you can be.

I have worked with many students from the following education establishments:

  • Salford University
  • Stockport College
  • The Manchester College
  • Oldham College

What will the supervision sessions cost?

The initial telephone conversation is free and you have no obligation to book an appointment.

The first supervision session will last one hour, in which we will discuss your goals, aims and the supervision style I offer. I will also answer any questions you have about me and supervision. The initial session is free.

Further sessions last for one and a half hours and cost £40. You can pay by cash, card or bank transfer at the time of the appointment.

Daytime, evening and weekend appointments available.

What next?

Please do call me on 0741 581 4882 to discuss how I can support you. There’s no obligation to arrange an appointment; our initial conversation will focus on what you’re looking for from a supervisor and your personal goals.
